Jack Haze – 7ACRES’ Newest Cultivar

Read Time: 6 minutes, 5 seconds.

We are excited to introduce 7ACRES’ newest cultivar, Jack Haze. Cannabis enthusiasts have come to know 7ACRES for producing the highest quality strains and Jack Haze is no exception. The first new strain since legalization, a sativa-dominant cultivar with a THC range of 19-24%, Jack Haze was grown with the same dedication to selection, process and cultivation.

7ACRES never rushes the product development process and only goes to market with cultivars its consumers expect. A meticulous phenotype selection process is conducted for every new genetic that is brought into the family of cultivars. We’re certain 7ACRES’ first sativa-dominant strain will leave you nothing but satisfied. It is committed to a greater experience.

A True Sativa.

Jack Haze was a standout from the seed with its combination of aromas that will heighten the senses and the experience.

The effects of cannabis go beyond the term’s sativa and indica. Originally used to describe the plant’s anatomy, they’ve since become synonymous as ways to discern and describe effects. At 7ACRES, they believe in rooting cannabis effects in compounds with a higher purpose: terpene profiles. Jack Haze is the aromatic embodiment of the true characteristics of a Sativa and one of the few cultivars on the market that is terpinolene-forward.

This Jack Haze is a complex hybrid of terpenes that deliver one powerful experience. With a pungent, terpinolene-dominant aroma balanced with sweet citrus followed closely by pine then a warm, spice note.

Jack Haze’s pine aroma is representative of the presence of both Terpinolene and Pinene terpenes. The cultivar’s sweet citrus aroma can be attributed to the presence of the Ocimene terpene, found in both mangoes and kumquats. Jack Haze has complex scent of sweet citrus and herbal notes. Complex compounds contribute to the cultivar’s spice-like scent — a unique aromatic characteristic that adds to the effect and experience.

7ACRES Jack Haze

What is Jack?

In the mid 1990’s, cannabis seed bank Sensi Seeds created a new strain by combining a Haze hybrid with a Northern Lights #5 and Shiva Skunk cross and named it “Jack Herer” in honour of the famed activist. A sativa-dominant cultivar, Jack Herer was first cultivated in the Netherlands and eventually gained as much renown as its namesake. This spicy and pine-scented sativa has been highly awarded for its quality and potency.

7ACRES’ Jack Haze cultivar has very similar characteristics to the renowned Jack Herer strain.

What is a Haze?

Jack Haze is part of the “Haze” family of cannabis cultivars. The story of Haze dates back to the 1960s and 70s along the US West Coast. It’s there the legendary ‘Haze Brothers’ cultivated, purely by chance, a new breed of cannabis. Originally developed as a sativa-only strain, Haze is a family of cannabis cultivars that has grown to include both sativa and indica. The Haze family of cultivars is renowned for its THC content and unique aromatic displays. 7ACRES’ Jack Haze is the budding embodiment of a “Haze” strain, possessing a pungent, citrusy, terpinolene-dominant scent.

Did you know that the original Jack Haze almost didn’t take root? According to cannabis folklore, Haze was initially seen as difficult group of cultivars to grow and manage, taking a long time to flower. But these dedicated growers knew that good things come to those who wait. Since then, Haze has produced countless hybrid cultivars around the globe, spreading its genetics to countries as far as Colombia, Thailand and South India.

Material Qualities.

Jack Haze is 7ACRES’ first proprietary cultivar; a cultivar is a variety of cannabis, commonly referred to as a “strain”. The development of these genetics was led by the Cambium Plant Sciences team. After legalization, Canadian cannabis companies initially had access to only a handful of genetics. In order to bridge the gap between the formal and the informal market, Cambium Plant Sciences is in the process of obtaining, creating and offering rare and sought-after genetics. Jack Haze is the first foray into this world. We are excited at the opportunity to create new strains and genetics for our own brands, and for the industry as a whole.

Jack Haze produces rich, trichome-dense nugs. Trichomes are resin glands, also known as the small “crystals” or “hairs” that line the leaves and flowers of the cannabis plant. All of cannabis’ desirable chemicals, cannabinoids and terpenes, are produced within the trichome heads. A large density of trichomes is indicative of a high-quality cultivar.

Radiant bright green flowers and vibrant orange stigmas make up the bud, crafting a cultivar as visually appealing as it is enjoyable.

Jack Haze is the budding embodiment of what consumers have come to love about both Haze and the Jack Herer strains; a pungent, terpinolene-dominant aroma balanced with sweet citrus followed closely by pine then a warm, spice note. This cultivar packs a complex hybrid of terpenes that deliver one powerful experience.

When consumed, the Jack Haze cultivar has a uniquely pleasing crisp, zesty and evergreen flavour.

At 7ACRES, the commitment to the cannabis community is founded in bridging the gap between the informal and formal markets. Jack Haze represents just that. The fifth cultivar to be released by 7ACRES, this new product will soon anchor the original four cultivars; Jean Guy, Sensi Star, White Widow and Wappa. Sensi Star and Wappa have indica-dominant qualities while Jean Guy and White Widow are balanced hybrids. This makes Jack Haze 7ACRES’ first true sativa offering. 7ACRES is excited to diversify its product offerings with the launch of this cultivar. Learn more about 7ACRES cultivars here.

White Widow

White Widow is a multiple award-winning balanced hybrid strain with a pungent, sweet and woody aroma. The name “White Widow” is in reference to the visually prominent white coating of trichomes that the strain produces.

Wappa is an award-winning indica-dominant strain developed in 2006 by Dutch cannabis pioneers Paradise Seeds. The cultivar possesses an exotic fruity aromatic profile and a visually impressive, trichome-rich dense structure.

Jean Guy

Jean Guy is 7ACRES’ tribute to the legendary cultivar popularized by the Montreal Compassion Club. Jean Guy is a balanced hybrid with a pungent citrusy and woody aroma. Jean Guy is renowned as a top-shelf strain among Canadian cannabis enthusiasts.

Sensi Star

Sensi Star is a highly-acclaimed, award-winning indica-dominant cultivar bred by Dutch cannabis industry pioneers Paradise Seeds. With chunky, high THC buds and a gassy lemon and pepper aroma, Sensi Star is widely recognized as one of the world’s most desirable cannabis strains.

7ACRES High End Cultivars.

7ACRES’ High End cultivars have been thoughtfully-selected and are raised and finished with care and passion.

Every strain that 7ACRES offers is carefully-selected to maximize aroma and flavour. The 7ACRES team is committed to providing consumers with hand-crafted cannabis flower that delivers an uncompromised experience while respecting the genetic lineage and history of each cultivar.

7ACRES’ plants are raised at an indoor-style facility in Kincardine, Ontario, using High Pressure Sodium (HPS) lighting and an advanced supplemental sunlight system. The 7ACRES facility also employs Active Plant Management, making adjustments to reduce the number of flowers produced per plant which helps to ensure consistent High End flowers.

Quality cannot be rushed. After five years of research and development, 7ACRES has created a proprietary cannabis curing process that allows the flower’s moisture content to come to a proper balance, intensifies the aroma, enriches the transfer of aroma to flavour, and solidifies the structure of each flower. This consistently results in a more enjoyable and flavourful experience for consumers.
