About This Position


Reporting to the CEO in Toronto, in this role you will head up the human resources department and deliver sophisticated recruiting initiatives to hire a variety of key roles supporting Supreme’ Toronto head office operations and assist in setting a new standard of excellence across all aspects of frontline recruitment programs, policies and initiatives, and contribute creative hiring concepts to deliver high-quality talent to the organization. As a talent expert, you will understand how to execute top tier creative hiring strategies with passion, positive drive and agility to meet the needs of the business. In this role you will also develop and oversee the human resources and talent management organizations and programs at the various Supreme subsidiaries, ensuring consistency of culture across Supreme and its subsidiaries. While this is a department lead position, HR professionals from all levels are encouraged to apply.


  • Develop and lead Supreme’ talent and human resources program to support short term growth, including developing departmental programs and processes for recruitment, training, retention and skills development
  • Establish and maintain consistent team culture across Supreme and its subsidiaries
  • Partner with the executive team to deliver recruitment strategies to attract and hire top talent at Supreme and subsidiaries, including managing and ensuring all hires are in line with and reflective of the culture of the organization
  • Collaborate with the executive team to enhance Supreme and its subsidiaries’ brand, hiring strategies and tailored social recruiting techniques
  • Provide ongoing assistance in the development of long and short-term staffing plans at Supreme, review staffing plans for subsidiaries, including short and long-term compensation strategies
  • Employ a variety of methods including job postings, social media, networking, direct sourcing and referrals to build and maintain a pipeline of top talent for various job profiles with a goal to reduce external recruitment costs
  • Coordinate and host recruitment events across Canada to target and attract top talent specific to frontline business needs
  • Ensure Supreme’ brand and hiring needs are communicated effectively across a variety of communities using a diverse and inclusive lens
  • Work closely with hiring managers to ensure a proactive workforce planning structure is in place to meet ongoing recruitment needs
  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement new recruiting processes;
  • Set a high standard of excellence (positive candidate experience, collegial “can-do” attitude, proactive mentality, etc.) to meet or exceed team quality output
  • Ensure that the recruitment process is compliant with company policies and employment legislation
  • Provide advice and/or feedback on any trends and key recruitment metrics within a continuous improvement environment
  • Play a key role in the delivery of projects for recruiting initiatives
  • Provide reporting and analytics to the business as required


  • Minimum three to five years’ of frontline recruitment experience, ideally within an organization with high-growth recruitment initiatives and/or a corporate entity with multiple operating assets
  • Experience recruiting for corporate, operational or commercial frontline roles is preferred; recruiting in other technical fields is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated track record of success with a variety of recruiting methods, including direct sourcing, e-recruiting and traditional methods, within a multi-faceted, growing business with a complex employee structure.
  • Demonstrated understanding and ability to stay on top of labour-market trends, current best-practices and future issues pertaining to recruiting and retention.
  • Experience in building strong and lasting internal relationships by working collaboratively in a complex stakeholder environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a new and diverse industry.
  • Ability to utilize a programmatic approach to develop a talent/HR organization including programs and procedures
  • Ability to organize and prioritize initiatives, balance multiple and constantly changing needs and schedules.
  • Ability to communicate at all internal and external levels and work within a matrix organization in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information methodically and draw well-informed conclusions.
  • Ability to draft board of director level documents.
  • Willingness to travel as required on occasion.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work with little supervision.
  • Must be passionate about the cannabis industry.
